Helping children cope with a divorce.

Children are not typically accustomed to change, and are very much glued to their daily routine. During a transitional period, such as a divorce or custody modification, they feel misplaced by the obstruction in their normal lives, and can exhibit odd behavioral patterns such as acting out, manipulating the parents or shutting-down.  

Your child is most sensitive to everything around him or her during a divorce. Often times, children understand more than we think they can comprehend. They see and hear everything around them, whether it’s verbal or non-verbal queues.
