Biography

Alana Braunstein, Esq. – Founder & Principal Attorney, Braunstein Law, APC.

Alana Braunstein is a highly regarded family law attorney and mediator serving clients in Del Mar and throughout San Diego County.

A Results-Oriented Approach to Family Law

Ms. Brausntein founded Braunstein Family Law & Mediation in 2016 with a clear mission: helping professionals and families navigate divorce and family law matters with clarity, and efficiency. Ms. Braunstein’s practice strikes the ideal balance between assertive representation and solution-focused compromise, always working toward the best possible outcome—whether in court or mediation.

She understands that family law cases are often emotionally charged, making it easy for individuals to lose sight of their long-term priorities. Her role is to cut through the noise, and provide a clear legal plan, which helps clients focus on what truly matters- protecting their future and financial security.

Pioneering a Smarter Approach to Mediation

As an experienced divorce mediator, Ms. Braunstein developed Neutral Divorce Mediation (NDM)—a confidential, streamlined, flat-fee mediation designed to help couples reach an amicable, out-of-court Marital Settlement Agreement . Unlike traditional litigation, which often escalates conflict and legal expenses, NDM neutralizes both parties’ positions by providing a clear framework based on California family law. Through this process, Alana presents various settlement options, guiding couples toward fair and legally sound agreements without taking sides.

NDM includes three to four private mediation sessions, available in-office or remotely, allowing couples to resolve their divorce efficiently while maintaining control over their outcomes. The service also covers all necessary document preparation and filing on behalf of both parties, as well as notarization of the Marital Settlement Agreement, ensuring a seamless and court-approved resolution.

“I am a big proponent of Neutral Divorce Mediation because it allows parties to set the tone for what they want the dissolution to represent, and in turn I see many breakthroughs made in just a matter of weeks, far faster with less emotional toll than the traditional litigation route.”

Before focusing exclusively on family law, Alana practiced corporate law at Procopio LLP and Gordon & Reese LLP, where she represented high-net-worth individuals and businesses in corporate transactions and contract negotiations. This background gives her a distinct advantage in high-asset divorces, business valuation disputes, and complex financial matters, ensuring her clients receive well-informed, strategic counsel.
